The name might raise a few eyebrows, but there’s actually a story behind it. The owners (Bryan and Shaheera), shared that “Your Mother’s House” carries a familiar and humorous meaning for Singaporeans — one that many would instantly understand.
Beyond the cheeky name, the concept was also created to make guests feel as though they were stepping into someone’s home, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
While cocktails are at the heart of the bar, the food deserves just as much attention. The Cajun Chix & Shrimp Pasta ($22) comes in a generous portion, packed with rich, savoury flavours. It’s the kind of comforting dish that pairs especially well with a couple of drinks — almost reminiscent of a late-night supper after a night out.
For sharing, the Glazed Patis Wings ($18) are a must-try. Coated in a sweet and spicy glaze, though it was slightly spicy for us, the wings became increasingly addictive with every bite.
Another standout is the Bicol Express Shrimp Toasties ($16), featuring crisp toast topped with a flavourful shrimp mixture. The combination of crunchy texture and umami-rich shrimp makes this an easy pairing with their cocktails.
And, of course, there are the cocktails. The bar’s specialty cocktail menu is curated around the personal favourites of both owners, resulting in a selection with distinct flavour profiles. We tried the Dirty Tommy’s ($23) and Rizz ($23), each offering something different and worth exploring.
With its playful concept, comforting food and thoughtfully crafted cocktails, Your Mother’s House is a lively new addition to Keong Saik Road that we’ll definitely be back for!
