Chinatown’s Newest Bakery and Cafe - Elaine Bakery and Cafe

This new cafe is located inside 18 Cross, offering Japanese-inspired recipes in their handcrafted cakes. As their cakes are made fresh daily, quantities are limited, so be sure to head there early if you want to try them!

We tried three of their flavours:

Lychee Lumière ($11) – The cream was incredibly soft and fluffy. It wasn’t overly creamy or sweet, so the taste was just right!

Matcha Yuzu Reverie ($12) – This has a light matcha flavour, while the yuzu adds a tangy and refreshing touch. A refreshing combi that we loved!

Berry Nocturne ($12) – This was our personal favourite! It’s a classic strawberry and chocolate combination, but the flavours felt refreshing and weren’t overly sweet.

We do admit that their cakes are slightly on the pricier side, but considering they use premium ingredients, we think they’re still worth trying!

Aside from cakes, they also serve coffee, smoothies, and specialty drinks. We highly recommend getting the Black Sesame Latte ($5.90) and Berry Bliss Smoothie ($6.50). The Black Sesame Latte isn’t overly thick or heavy and has just the right balance, while the Berry Bliss is fruity and super refreshing.

If you’re looking for a quick tea break spot in the CBD, be sure to check out this new spot!
