KIAP KIAP Chicken Club & Bar is a new spot along Liang Seah Street – the buzzing street in Bugis known for its chinese hotpot spots! So, here’s something else to check out!
Hidden on the second level, this new spot features a bold red-themed interior that’s not only pretty but super aesthetic too. As its name suggests, they specialise in fried chicken, alongside a range of local-fusion dishes.
Since they’re known for their fried chicken, we had to give it a shot. We went with the KIAP KIAP Original Fried Chicken ($12) — 2 pcs. The meat was extremely juicy, while the skin was sooo crispy! The best part? It wasn’t overly oily at all. They also have other flavours like Duck Fat Mala and Mentaiko, which we’ll definitely be back to try!
Aside from fried chicken, they also serve mains like udon and fried rice. We tried Jenny’s Udon with options of Chicken ($12) or Seafood ($16). The seafood udon reminded us of Hokkien mee, with that delicious wok hei and umami flavour that made it extremely tasty!
If you’re here just for drinks and sides, this spot might actually spoil you. They have a wide range of sides to pair with your drinks, but we highly recommend getting the King’s Truffle Poutine ($20). Before you say, “It’s just fries” — the beef gravy and Parmesan add so much flavour, making this the perfect drinking snack.
For drinks, they serve draft beers, cocktails, whisky and more.
But what caught our eye were their signature cocktails — Kaya Daiquiri ($20), a refreshing citrusy drink with a hint of pandan. It’s light, sweet and super refreshing!
Then there’s the Babygirl ($22) — made with tequila, elderflower and raspberry. It has a slightly sour and fruity taste that lowkey goes so well with the poutine fries!
